Are these not challenging times? The world seems on the brink.
We've pushed the Earth's expiry date so far that it's easy to feel anxious and afraid.
In some circles, there's already an apocalyptic mood. And, looking soberly and objectively, so much truly is spiralling out of control: COVID, the climate, tensions between East and West, the many rulers who seize all power for themselves, the fear of nuclear war, all shortly after the greatest pandemic humanity has ever known.
Indeed, it's pouring in like never before.
Where can one find an anchor in such times? A discerning reader won't be surprised, but the answer is obvious.
In Jesus Christ.
Though out of fashion, and for many, just history, his message and his work have grown like a fortress over the years, remaining precisely the same.
He is the light that came into the world to lead us home.
Without writing a long sales pitch here, anyone who understands him even a little gains a perspective stronger than all the problems that can fill us with dread and fear.
The question then arises: how can I understand him?
It's quite simple: if you enter into a monologue with him, speak to him, and ask him to help you understand him, to understand life, that will be the best conversation you could ever have.
Do as I did years ago: if it doesn't help, it won't hurt, but it's certainly always worth a try.
Just speak these words, in a normal, peaceful tone; that's all:
Jesus Christ, greatest name this world has ever heard, if you truly exist, I ask you, give me a sign, lead me, enter my life, and show me the truth.
That's all. Then simply wait and see, hear, and feel what new things can happen in your life.
