His Peace Shall Have No End
«Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.»
«He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.»

Do not read the Bible in one long run, but passage by passage: one text, unhurried, asking the Holy Spirit for understanding. Whoever tries to swallow everything at once loses the overview. Whoever takes one passage each day will see the whole picture over time.
The connection
What Isaiah received as a prophecy of the coming Prince of Peace is confirmed to Mary by the angel Gabriel. The promised King, who is to sit on David's throne and bring eternal peace, is Jesus Christ. Through Him, God's law and justice are not only established but fulfilled and perfected in love.
Reflection
Yesterday, we saw that the government rests upon Christ's shoulder. Today, we look at the quality of this reign: it is characterised by eternal peace. Isaiah speaks of a kingdom that will be strengthened by justice and righteousness. This sounds like a vision that is almost unimaginable in our often-unjust world. Yet, this is precisely the promise given to us through Christ.
The angel Gabriel affirms this message to Mary. He not only says that Jesus will be great but that His kingdom will have no end. This is not an empty political promise, but the assurance of a kingdom built on God's love and truth. A kingdom where peace is not merely a ceasefire but a state of profound harmony and healing.
For you, this means that you can be a part of this kingdom today. Even if the world around you often seems chaotic and unjust, the peace of Christ is anchored in your heart. It is not dependent on external circumstances but an inner reality that gives you strength and hope. Consciously receive this eternal peace today.

Dear Father in Heaven, I thank You for the promise of eternal peace through Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is so comforting to know that His reign has no end and is founded on justice and righteousness. Help me to carry this peace in my heart today, even when the world around me is restless. Let me be a witness to Your kingdom and reflect Your love and truth in my encounters. Amen.
